What are Flat Feet?

Flat feet is a condition where one or both feet have little to no arch. In most cases people who have flat feet don’t experience significant problems or need treatment.

When to Contact your Doctor

You should make an appointment with your podiatrist if you are experiencing symptoms of flat feet. Especially if you are experiencing pain when you walk.

Treatment

There are a couple treatments that can help manage and treat flat feet. Such as:

  • Rest and ice to reduce pain and swelling
  • Supportive devices such as foot orthotics, arch supports, foot and leg braces, and custom shoes.
  • Physical therapy/stretching to strengthen tight muscles and tendons
