Plantar warts are warts that develop on plantar surfaces — which is, the soles (or bottom) of the feet. Normal standing and walking will force them in to the skin, as well as pressure is painful to the affected area. Like all warts, they may be harmless, but in many cases they are too painful to disregard. Plantar warts that grow together in a cluster are known as mosaic warts.
