Telemedicine

Telemedicine

Telehealth is the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to support and promote long-distance clinical health care for patients. This allows for patients to get needed medical treatment without having to risk going into a crowded environment. By providing vitual appointments we are allowing you to continue to receive the quality care you need.

What kind of appointments are offered virtually?

Virtual appointments are great for check-ups, diagnostic testing follow-up, consultations, and more.  No specific procedures can be performed over video, however, a virtual visit may be appropriate for the following types of appointments:

  • Initial consult with the doctor for an injury, deformity or noticeable foot & ankle problems
  • Follow-up after surgery, wound care, office procedures, etc.
  • Give you critical advice and instruction for home care and rehabilitation.

If you aren’t sure whether or not your appointment can be conducted successfully with a virtual visit, just give our office a call and we’ll be glad to help you.

Will insurance pay for these virtual visits? In this current pandemic, many private insurances, medicare, and Medicaid will now cover telehealth visits. What are the benefits of telehealth? Patients will not need to wait in the “waiting area”, which will allow for social distancing to help control exposure.  This will reduce wait times for patients and save time.

Just complete the adjacent form to request your virtual appointment or call the office.  Our staff will book a time and provide additional instructions you may require.
